It’s official! After months of referring to it as “That book I’m working on that’s a collection of my 101-word stories,” I finally landed on a title. From here on out, the little book that spawns new stories on a daily basis is now Fast Fiction: 101-Word Tales.
I knew I needed to come up with something catchy and descriptive and what really forced me to sit down and figure it out was an event I attended this weekend in Pacific Grove called “Good Old Days,” a street fair that turned out to be a lot of fun. A group I belong to (The Central Coast Writers Club) had a booth. Since I was going to be sitting at our table for a few hours promoting the club, I may have brought some promotional materials for the book. Since you can’t really promote a book–even one that isn’t out yet–without a title, I needed to get cracking. I did, thus was born Fast Fiction.
Keep it here for updates as the book moves forward. I’m excited to bring you progress reports–as well as probably a couple of stories each week that will most likely become a part of the collection (be it Vol. 1, 2 or wherever we end up). Could that be a hint that this will not be a solo effort? Stranger things have happened, right?
