Here’s the Story of the Week…

          A Quick Getaway

Lacy and Sara killed their cocktails just as the doorbell rang.

Lacy checked her watch. “Right on time. Didn’t I tell you I have the best babysitter?”

“A thousand times.”

Once the sitter had been introduced, the two moms scurried out and into the car.

“Why’d you introduce me as your friend?” Sara asked.

“You are.”

“But why didn’t you say ‘best friend?’”

“I don’t know. Does it matter?”

“I would’ve said you’re my best friend.”

“I am your best friend.”

“So you do know how to say ‘best friend.’”

Laughter filled the car. It was gonna be a great night.
