Always Trust the System

Ramon was not a particularly vindictive person, but he did have his limits.

“You’re not gonna let him get away with this, are you boss?” his trusted lieutenant asked.

“What he did was wrong. He knows it, his people know it, everybody knows it, but in the end, everything evens out.”

The lieutenant nodded but he didn’t look convinced. Ramon understood how things worked better than anyone.

“The universe rewards the good and takes care of the bad.”

He picked up his phone and texted: Do it Sunday morning—but before he gets into church.

“I’m a patient man. It’ll happen.”
