The wind barely left its mark on my broken heart. The gale coming off the sea was like a warm breeze compared to your icy goodbye. After you left, I felt so utterly alone and so terribly worthless that I could barely place one foot in front of the other.
You might think that I would throw myself into the sea. oh yes, that thought has tempted me. But I would rather throw you and all of our memories so that I may live.

The rocking motion came to an abrupt halt and jolted me from my sleep. I heard the conductor call out what I thought was San Jose and grabbed frantically for my bag.
I barely made it off the train before it started moving again. The gratitude I felt for not missing my stop quickly melted away as I took in my surroundings.
An abandoned ramshackle hut to my left made up the train station. To my right the Pacific Ocean. I was utterly alone.

I am a storm-lashed fish in a midnight-green sea
But I am not content because my gill slit is bleeding,
Not from a fishing hook but from a soda pop bottle top
That I swallowed and hiccuped, up into my snout, but not out
Oh, how I hurt. What is this dirt?
I don’t feel fit … Oh, shit!
